Who we are

Otto the Butler is operated by Tuk Tuk Labs LLC, a company registered in the United States. You can reach us at hello@ottothebutler.com.

What data we collect

• Telegram or WhatsApp user ID and display name
• Messages you send to Otto (text, photos, voice notes)
• Expense data you create (amounts, merchants, categories, dates)
• Usage metrics (message counts, features used, API costs)
• Email address if you sign up for our waitlist

How we use your data

• To provide the Otto service — tracking expenses, generating reports, processing receipts
• To improve the service and fix bugs
• To send you product updates if you opted in

We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads.

Third-party services

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your messages to understand and respond. Subject to Anthropic's usage policies.
• OpenAI (Whisper) — transcribes voice notes. Audio is not stored after transcription.
• Supabase — hosts our database and file storage.
• Telegram / WhatsApp — messaging platforms through which you interact with Otto.

Data retention

Your expense data is kept as long as your account is active. Conversation history is summarized periodically and older messages are archived. Voice recordings are deleted immediately after transcription. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by messaging Otto or contacting us.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Database access is protected by row-level security policies. We follow industry best practices for securing financial data.
